The use of methamphetamine by a pregnant woman places her baby at an increased risk of problems, beginning before birth and extending into the child's life. However, while we have had campaigns to educate pregnant women about the dangers of alcohol and tobacco for years, information on illegal drugs has been less available. Across the country, too many babies are testing positive for methamphetamines at birth. In some areas of the country, a new mother may face prosecution and possible removal of her child if her baby tests positive at birth.

These rack cards are designed to help educate health professionals and women of childbearing age, and are an excellent addition to the reading materials available in physician offices, particularly family practice, OB-GYN, and general medical clinics.
